Additionally, our commitment to sustainability is underscored by our FSC® certification, ensuring that the main material we use comes from responsibly managed forests.
Below, we explain the significance of these symbols and what they represent for Lovi:
KEY FLAG SYMBOL – MADE IN FINLAND
The Key Flag symbol is a well-known guarantee of Finnish origin for products and services. To earn this symbol, at least 50% of the product’s cost value must be of Finnish origin, meaning that at least half of the material and labor costs used in manufacturing must come from Finland. The required level is greatly exceeded here at Lovi.
At Lovi, our products are crafted in our own small factory in Jääli, North Ostrobothnia. With design, manufacturing, sales, and marketing all under one roof, we ensure that every step of our production process is carried out with care and in line with our values.
In addition to Finnish production, we use high-quality Finnish birch plywood as our primary material. You can find more information about this in the FSC® section below. Our product packaging is also manufactured in Finland. This approach allows us to support Finnish jobs and ensure that our supply chain operates sustainably.

DESIGN FROM FINLAND – DESIGNED IN FINLAND
The Design from Finland label signifies that a product is designed in Finland, highlighting the importance of design in the company’s operations and its investment in design. To earn this label, a company must demonstrate that its products are designed responsibly, user-oriented, and professionally. The production chain must be transparently communicated, with the country of production clearly displayed. The entire production chain must be transparent and responsible, and the company’s headquarters must be located in Finland.
Our designer, founder, and owner of Lovi, Anne Paso, emphasizes the importance of design from the perspectives of production, logistics, resellers, end users, and the environment. The entire chain and its functionality are considered in the design process.
In production, working conditions must be excellent, and the manufacturing process smooth. From a logistics perspective, flat packaging takes up minimal space, making storage and shipping both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
Resellers benefit from flat packaging due to ease of storage and online shopping convenience. Sending a flat package to a customer is simple. The hanging hole in Lovi product packaging makes in-store display easier, and the 1:1 image of the product printed on the package helps customers visualize the final product. We also manufacture and offer our resellers sales stands sized for our products.
A product packaged in a flat package also offers advantages to consumers. It is easy to slip into a handbag or pack in luggage, and it is convenient to send as a gift.
The importance of design is further emphasized during the assembly of the figure and when examining the final product. Illustrated assembly instructions help place the pieces correctly, allowing you to enjoy the moment of creating something with your hands. The carefully thought-out appearance of the assembled product brings natural beauty to your home interior.

FSC® CERTIFICATION SYSTEM
The FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certificate is the most well-known, reliable, and traceable certification system that ensures raw materials come from responsibly managed forests. It also addresses the social and economic aspects of forest use. This certificate guarantees sustainable forest management, maintaining forest diversity, and nurturing landscape and cultural values.
Since 2020, all Lovi products have been made from FSC® Mix-labeled birch plywood. The use of the FSC® certificate is closely monitored, with external audits conducted regularly, in our case, every year.
The board material made of thin wood veneers is ideal for our products, easy to process with our production machines, and gives Lovi products a vibrant surface. The Finnish FSC®-certified birch plywood we use is not only sustainably produced but also high-quality and beautiful.
